Black Is Beautiful

The worst thing wasn’t when black women were told they weren’t beautiful, it’s when they began believing it ?

It’s time that black women regained their regal status and started believing so accordingly. ?

All this begins at home from a very young age where our children need to be bombarded with love and self belief.
I make a conscious effort in my other role to tell young girls when they wear their natural hair out that they look beautiful. The shock on their faces tells me they don’t hear it often.

By providing that representation for our babies, they will know that black is beautiful too. Are they surrounded by the books, toys, films and art that showcases their heritage in the best way?
